On Tuesday, May 26th, the opening night of Chicago, Adrienne Arsht Center members and special invited guests were transported back in time to the Roaring Twenties where flapper girls and suave gangsters danced the fox trot while listening to the mastery of Duke Ellington.  Celebrating what it means to be from Chicago, members dined on traditional deep dish pizzas, Chicago-style hot dogs (with celery salt and all!) and cheesecake lollipops all catered by the fabulous Barton G, while the Adrienne Arsht Center staff donned vintage 1920s costumes generously donated by Miami Twice Boutique. The cast of Chicago, including the fabulous SofÍa Vergara, lit up the Donald and B. Carlin Banquet Hall as guests met and chatted with the stars of the show.

Tuesday’s event was a special one for members as this production closed out an extraordinary 2008-2009 Broadway Season with this hugely successful bang!  Next season looks to be another phenomenal ride. The Adrienne Arsht Center is happy to report that there will be opening night cast parties for members during all of the Broadway offerings, so plan wardrobes accordingly!
