What we’ve known all along is now official: Adrienne Arsht Center chief financial officer John Burnett is among the South Florida region’s top financial minds. John was recognized last month as part of the South Florida Business Journal’s fourth annual CFO awards. He received the top honor in the competition’s nonprofit category. A special awards ceremony held in January recognized winners in several business categories.
This designation validates the Center’s standing as one of South Florida’s most financially responsible institutions. In fact, the Center has emerged from the past three fiscal years with balanced budgets, due in no small part to John’s leadership and shrewd financial planning.
Working with the Performing Arts Center Trust board of directors and senior management, John and his team have managed to reduce operating costs, implement new accounting processes for efficient and timely financial reporting, and establish best practices for the Center’s Finance, Accounting, and IT departments, all of which fall under John’s purview.
John Burnett’s work has proven vital to the Adrienne Arsht Center’s success as a fiscally responsible nonprofit institution. His leadership has enabled the Center to undertake many of the programs and initiatives that are making a meaningful community impact today.
