With divine Bombay Sapphire cocktails and delicious food from Prelude by Barton G., the Green Room Society hosted, for the third time, the world famous Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for the official opening night after-party held at the Adrienne Arsht Center. The event was a smashing success with more than 200 guests in attendance. Some familiar faces included Judith Jamison of Alvin Ailey fame, noted Haitian choreographer, Jeanguy Saintus of Aiykodans, Commissioner Edmonson, and Mike Eidson,  chairman of the Performing Arts Center Trust, who danced up a storm.

The event was cast under a special light this year with the return of Miami’s pride, Robert Battle, newly minted artistic director of the dance troupe.

Expanding the focus on arts and culture as an integral part of the Miami social scene is one of the main goals of the Green Room Society. The initiative was formed out of a need to create community links with the growing population of young professionals in South Florida who call downtown Miami home. This membership program taps into the power of networking by connecting people with a close connection to the arts. In its short lifespan the society has grown at a rapid pace mirroring our local development and an increased demand for the arts, with the Adrienne Arsht Center as a Miami hub for cultural offerings.

The Alvin Ailey post-party showcases the great benefits provided by the Green Room Society program. This coming April, GRS will celebrate a milestone by throwing a bash, celebrating a passion for the arts in style.
