You get a great sense of passion and determination when you speak with Ana Codina Barlick.  The South Florida native was recently elected President of Board of Governors of the prestigious Adrienne Arsht Center resident company, Miami City Ballet. Codina Barlick, a Project Manager for Flagler Development Group in Coral Gables, Florida, served on the company’s Board of Trustees since 2008 and is an active donor and volunteer. A position typically dominated by those her senior; Codina Barlick’s election is direct corollary of her foresight and capability. Having a longtime relationship with the artistry of ballet, she can still recall the impact of watching her first Miami City Ballet performance in 1986.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as President of a magnificent cultural institution such as Miami City Ballet. I look forward to working with the Board and with Edward Villella in this new role,” said Codina Barlick. She continued, “We are so blessed to have such a high caliber group right here in our own backyard.  So many of the dancers are from Miami; have been raised here and attended the Miami City Ballet School.”

Codina Barlick’s determination is motivated by steadfast civic pride. She believes in this community and is working to make Miami a place where the best in the world can be found right in our neighborhoods.  Prior to rejoining Flagler in August of 2004, Codina Barlick spent two years in Cambridge, Massachusetts completing an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Business, where she was a co-founder of the MIT Sloan Real Estate Club.  She went to business school after working four years in the real estate industry: as a leasing agent for Tishman Speyer Properties and as an Assistant Project Manager for Codina Group. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and also an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business. She and her husband, Robert Barlick, Jr., live in Coral Gables with their two children.
